What is a Doula?
A Birth Doula is a trained woman who provides emotional, physical and educational support to a mother who is expecting, experiencing labor and during her delivery.
A Doula is your labor support companion. I do not provide any medical care. However, I am knowledgeable in many medical aspects of labor and delivery. I provide comfort with pain relief techniques including relaxation, massage and laboring positions. My job is to help you and your partner bond the time before your little one arrives. Lastly, I act as an advocate to the mother, encouraging any desires she may have surrounding the birth of her child.
After the birth, I typically help with breast feeing and help keep baby and mom together.
PRENATAL VISITS: My prenatal visits will be virtual until further notice. We will discuss your birth plan and situations regarding pregnancy, labor, childbirth & postpartum.
I will provide resources and referrals for more information.
DURING YOUR BIRTH: I am available and ready to arrive at your home, hospital or birth center whenever you desire. Once your active labor starts, I will remain with you, by your side, supporting you in any way that benefits you the entire length of your birthing process with different techniques, massage, aroma therapy, relaxation methods and labor positions.
